RED WINE

     Chateau Beaucastel
An
excellent estate, making Top CNDP using organic methods - a real favourite with wine enthusiasts.
Highly Recommended!

47 75cl Coudoulet Rouge de
Beaucastel
Chateau Beaucastel
Cotes du Rhone Rouge

RP -
The real steal, however, is the 2010 Cotes du Rhone Coudoulet red, which has really put on some weight and intensity since I tasted it last year. The wine displays oodles of licorice, black currant and black cherry liqueur with hints of damp forest floor and truffle. Sweet tannin, decent acidity and nice, attractive density make for an outstanding Cotes du Rhone to drink over the next 7-8 years.
2010 £19.00 RP90
2012-20
120 75cl Coudoulet Rouge de
Beaucastel
Chateau Beaucastel
Cotes du Rhone Rouge

RP -
In total contrast, the 2009 Cotes du Rhone Coudoulet red represents the essence of Provence in its notes of ground pepper, new saddle leather, lavender, kirsch, garrigue, and abundant red and black fruits. This complex, evolved, luscious red begs for a bloody grilled steak. With a creamy, medium to full-bodied texture, this gorgeous, complex, evolved wine should be enjoyed over the next 7-8 years.
2009 £19.00 RP90
2011-19
27 75cl Coudoulet Rouge de
Beaucastel
Chateau Beaucastel
Cotes du Rhone Rouge

RP -
The blockbuster 2007 Cotes du Rhone Coudoulet, always one of the best bargains from the south, may be the finest Coudoulet ever produced. A blend of 30% Mourvedre, 30% Grenache, and the rest Syrah, Cinsault, and a few other authorized varietals, is incredibly opulent and rich, with sensational notes of black currants, liquorice, smoked herbs, and meat juices, a full-bodied mouthfeel, savoury tannins, and good acidity as well as length. This outstanding wine can be drunk now or cellared for 10-15 years.
2007 £20.00 RP92
2009-20

TOP Vintage

    DOMAINE de la CHARBONNIERE
A top CNDP grower, with 10 acres in Vacqueyras - the latter are great value wines!

82 75cl Vacqueyras
Domaine de la Charbonniere

RP - The 2010 Vacqueyras offers lots of cedary, loamy soil notes interwoven with black cherry jam and black currants. Medium to full-bodied with supple tannins and admirable purity as well as intensity, it should drink well for a decade.

2010 £16.00 RP91
2011-21
22 75cl Vacqueyras
Domaine de la Charbonniere

RP - The 2009 Vacqueyras, a blend of mostly Grenache with some Syrah, boasts a dense purple color along with a beautiful bouquet of black raspberries, blueberry pie, camphor and white flowers. Rich, pure, medium to full-bodied and velvety textured.

2009 £16.00 RP91
2011-16

    DOMAINE de MOURCHON
RP -
In just over a decade, this family-owned estate has become not only a top producer in the southern Rhone, but also a reference point for what’s possible in the picturesque and touristy hilltop village of Seguret.

58 75cl Cotes du Rhone-Village 'Seguret Grande Reserve'
Domaine de Mourchon

RP - The 2010 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Seguret Grande Reserve is sensational. A two-grape blend of two-thirds Grenache and the rest Syrah, with the Grenache aged in tank and the Syrah in small barrels, it has terrific freshness, delineation and purity. It is full-bodied, black/purple in color, with stunning richness and intensity.

2010 £17.00 RP93
2012-21
